Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band - 'Radio Nowhere' (Columbia, 2007)
The first leaked song from the new album, Magic to be released on October 1st in Europe and October 2nd in the USA.  This is the lead single from the album.  What we have here is a driving, almost hypnotic dirty blues based rocker.  Overall it sounds like it could have been an outtake from the River

This is the kind of song which needs to be listened to in a convertable driving across the USA.  Lyrically, the song could be about the state of modern music or, as often with Springsteen, about a world in which he no longer feels part of.  The repeated line, "Is there anyone out there?" seems to be key here. The song closes with a storming saxophone solo from Clarence Clemens.

The E-Street band is back and they mean business. Expect this to clog up the airwaves of radio stations soon.
