Stay Positive - album/single/tour details
The Hold Steady's fourth album is edging closer with news of a single release next week, a US tour, the album cover and even the first album review.
We've previously brought you the tracklisting, but we've now got even more details for you on one of Rockbeatstone's most anticipated albums of 2008.
The tracklisting is as follows and the artwork is included at the bottom of this post.
1. 'Constructive Summer'
2. 'Sequestered in Memphis'
3. 'One for the Cutters'
4. 'Navy Sheets'
5. 'Lord, I'm Discouraged'
6. 'Yeah Sapphire'
7. 'Both Crosses'
8. 'Stay Positive'
9. 'Magazines'
10. 'Joke About Jamaica'
11. 'Slapped Actress'
The more recent news is that the first single will be 'Sequestered in Memphis' and available from Tuesday 20th May (next week!) at iTunes in the USA. The first radio play will be next Monday in the UK, although details have not yet been released, but expect the usual suspects to be playing it, Zane Lowe, John Kennedy, et al. UK release is pencilled in for 7th June.
The album itself will be available on July 14th in all good record shops in the UK/US and Europe. However, those lucky bastards over at Uncut have already been listening to it and by their account it could be the stone-cold classic that all fans were hoping for. The album feature guest appearences by Ben Nichols, the singer from Lucero, and also the members of the Drive by Truckers.
To support the album the band have announced a massive tour, initially focusing on the US of A. However, Festival appearances at the Great Escape, T in the Park and supporting the Counting Crows at O2 Wireless in the UK will preclude these dates.
