Chinese Democracy bribe

No we're not getting political and talking about unrest in Tibet. American drinks firm Dr Pepper has promised (nearly) every single American a free drink if Axl Rose releases Chinese Democracy this year.

Although former guitarists Slash and Buckethead will, unfortunately for them, be excluded from the offer.

The record was set for a March release and we even reviewed an internet leak of the song. But it has since dissapeared off the radar.

Axl Rose was surprised at this news.  He said, "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy".

I wonder if this free-drinks offer will be enough for Axl to get up off his arse and finish it?  The BBC reports that he has spent over $13 million on the album already.  So probably about time to release something so he can at least try and break even.

Trouble is that we've been waiting so long that it is bound to dissapoint.
