Eddie Argos is an intellectual in Germany
Our good friends Art Brut, struggling for success in the UK, are considered god-like geniuses in Germany. They've even got a university course on their lyrics.
Art Brut are an amazing band - both live and recorded. In fact I think that Eddie Argos is one of the funniest men in music. However, in Berlin it appears that they've taken things a little too far with a course at one of their main university's entitled, "The Depressive Dandy - the lyrics of Eddie Argos".
Speaking to the NME, Argos claimed that he felt a little uncomfortable with the label of "intellectual", that the German media insist on sticking on him. The bands debut album, Bang, Bang Rock & Roll, was a monumental success in the country and the band even appeared on the cover of the German Rolling Stone magazine. Their new album, Its a Bit Complicated is out at the end of the month.
The band will be playing the Astoria, London tomorrow and Rockbeatstone will be in attendance. Expect a review pretty soonish.
