Latitude Headliners Announced: Meh

Latitude has cultivated a reputation for being pretty damn awesome over the past couple of years (they only started in 2007). And rightly so, with an alumni roster that contains Arcade Fire, Wilco, Gotan Project, Jarvis Cocker, Blondie, Sigur Rós, Franz Ferdinand and The Breeders (to name only a handful).

Is is therefore slightly baffling to see this years headliners announced as The Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. OK, Nick Cave is a decent choice, but Grace Jones as a headliner? Seriously?

Other acts confirmed are Doves (whose forthcoming album is surprisingly good) and Bat for Lashes (who seems to be playing pretty much any festival who will have her) and Editors (...)

As with other years, the non-musical lineups looks very strong, with some of the best theatre and dance companies scheduled to perform (RSC, Saddler's Wells among others). The festival also features some awesome poets and performers that you will probably never have heard of.

The whole shindig kicks off on 16th July in Henham Park, Suffolk.
